“Shema and Yahweh God” – JLD.

I will call upon Your name, and keep my eyes above the waves. My soul will rest in Your embrace, for I am Yours and You are mine. Beautiful praise and worship Danae! In the torah portion, Pastor Joseph covered Yitro, Jethro, Exodus 18:1 – 20:23, which spoke on the importance of hearing, then doing something with the word we receive. Amen. And in the main message, Rabbi Jonathan spoke on The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Of the 2,500+ gods out there, Messiah Echad worships a God who is not a plural unity, rather He is an all powerful ONE God, as per the Shema in Deuteronomy 6:4. So to help us distinguish between our God and the others, we talked about attributes, characteristics, and natures that are unique to each. The audio is and slides are

“Yahweh Nissi and Worthy” – JLD.

While we lift our East Coast brothers who are experiencing a harsh winter, here in Central Texas, we were blessed with a mild day and some hot word. After the announcements, and beautiful worship, which was partially included in the recording, Rabbi Jonathan spoke on Beshalach “When he let go”, from Exodus 13:17 – 17:16. The Lord is our banner, Yahweh Nissi, and we should picture or remember Him, in front of us, no matter the situation. Then after some amazing praise reports, and heartfelt prayer requests, P. Duane spoke on how we are worthy enough to be God’s hands and feet, and He bought us with a price. The audio is and slides are Finally, we ordained Duane Smale as an Elder and Associate Pastor. Messiah Echad is growing; see you next week for monthly oneg!

“Freedom and Contentment” – JLD.

After some spirit filled praise and worship by Team Bet, Daniel set aside the drums to present Torah Potion Bo, Come, from Exodus 10:1 – 13:16. Daniel did an amazing job speaking about God showing Himself, and His Power, through all the plaques; the first seven were for the nations, while the final three were for Israel. Powerful. Finally, we had some powerful prayer, after which Rabbi Jonathan spoke on being content, inspired by the encouragement found in Philippians 4:11. The key to being content is having (1) happiness, making sure we have (2) peace, and focusing on being (3) satisfied. We even covered some practical truths to being content. “YHVH and Leadership” – JLD.

Messiah Echad was blessed to have Alex speak on Vayera, I appeared, from Exodus 6:2 – 9:35. We saw how there were magicians who could copy the first three plagues, but after that, they could not compare to the power of YHVH (often pronounced Yahweh). His name and power, is above all, although He is also known by titles, manifestations, or attributes. So after praying in His name, Rabbi Jonathan taught on the leadership structure of Messiah Echad, which is founded in His Scriptures. As opposed to the downsides of being led by emotions or mobs (crow psychology), we see how God more often led through one, called out person. And this is the model we follow at Messiah Echad, as alluded to in our About Us, and Constitution. The audio is and slides are

“Commands and Unity” – JLD.

After praise and worship, then a brief prophetic message, Rabbi Jonathan spoke on Shemot from Exodus 1 – 6. Rabbi summarized the beginning section, then quizzed us on the rest. How did God appear to Moses, what was His Name, how many signs were given to Moses, how many people led the rival, and do Gods commands matter to people? After the parsha was praise reports, then prayer requests, then another prophetic message, which concluded in more prayer… oh how we are praying in 2016! Next, our special guest, Pastor Nate Cashdan from Fervent Embrace Ministries and Agape Life Church, spoke on why unity is important, what unity is, what should we unify around, what does unity look like, and why we should unify.
